A 14 year old girl from Travis County is suing MySpace.com for $30-million, claiming that the popular social networking site fails to protect minors from adult sexual predators. She was assaulted by a Buda man she met on MySpace.com, and announced the law suit on Monday.

The lawsuit is claiming that the website, MySpace.com, does not require users to verify their age and date of birth before registering on the site. They are suing not only for the 30 million dollars, but for added security measures to prevent strangers from contacting users that are younger than 16.

"MySpace is more concerned about making money than protecting children online," said Adam Loewy, who is representing the girl and her mother in the lawsuit against MySpace, parent company News Corp. and Pete Solis, the 19-year-old accused of sexually assaulting the girl."
